Christmas Meeting for Football Physical Trainers Region of Murcia

It has been a long time since I had such an extensive and intense family vacation at Christmas. But despite that, and taking into account the small traditions that are generated over time, this year we have continued to hold an informal and friendly meeting, but with a lot of content, a group of physical trainers from the region of Murcia. We have been holding this type of meeting for a few years and we always take the opportunity to update details and personal and professional situations, and it also helps me to be able to help colleagues with different projects that are coming out. In this last and recent meeting with physical trainers in the Murcia region, exciting debates also arose that illuminated new aspects of physical preparation in football. This post thoroughly examines each of the points discussed, offering a unique perspective on the key conversations and decisions that took place.

1. SESSION MD+1 = TTSS VS TTII

The debate over minimum duration plus one (MD+1) versus total session duration (TTSS) versus total session duration plus one (TTII) generated a fascinating conversation. Practical experiences and perspectives on how these variables influence training effectiveness were shared and analyzed.

2. FORCE STIMULI: VARIABILITY VS MONOTONY

Another crucial topic addressed was the dichotomy between variability and monoty in strength training. The professionals present shared their views on how to balance the need to introduce variation to stimulate the body and mind, with the importance of establishing consistent movement patterns.

3. PHYSICAL PREPARATION ~ PERSONAL TRAINER (EP)

Instead of focusing on the connection between physical preparation and periodic training (PE), the discussion focused on the relationship between physical preparation and the intervention of a personal trainer. How can these two elements work hand in hand to optimize player performance? Strategies to integrate physical preparation synergistically with personalized guidance from a coach were a focal point.

4. CONDITIONAL DATA AND ITS SPECIFICITY

The fundamental role of conditional data in physical preparation was carefully examined. How can we ensure that the data collected is specific and relevant to football? Athletic trainers shared their methods for ensuring the quality and specificity of the data used in decision making.

5. ACUTE/CHRONIC LOAD RATIO IN INJURIES

The risk of injuries was a topic of great interest, especially in relation to the analysis of the acute/chronic load ratio. This concept and the key variables in quantifying the training load were delved into. How can we balance the load to reduce the risk of injury without compromising performance?

6. WHAT DECISIONS DO WE MAKE FROM THE CONDITIONAL DATA?

An essential part of the meeting focused on practical decisions arising from the interpretation of conditional data. From adjustments to training programs to modifications to load management, trainers shared key decisions made in response to detailed analyzes of the data collected.

7. ASSESSMENT OF THE MOVEMENT TO PROGRESS IN PERFORMANCE

The meeting concluded with a reflection on the importance of valuing movement as a means to progress in performance. Innovative methods to evaluate and improve player movement were explored, highlighting the intrinsic connection between movement quality and success on the field.

In summary, the meeting with physical trainers in Murcia was a dynamic and enriching forum where fundamental topics in football physical preparation were addressed. The various perspectives and decisions made reflect the continued evolution in this crucial field for sports performance, now placing special emphasis on decisions derived from conditional data.

Finally, and knowing that several colleagues and professionals have joined the group lately, I invite you to join this healthy, free community that we use as a space for exchange from time to time, and if you would like to join us to next christmas.

Happy new year to all, may it bring you all the personal and sporting successes that you deserve…

We keep moving forward,
